Introduction to proper core activation techniques. Emphasis on motor control through effective movement patterns. Training good movement is the chief goal.
Building on the various patterns of movement learned in the Level 1 program, with the introduction of split stance, glute dominant postures and patterns.
Continuation in training effective glute dominant patterns of movement, however now adding various levels of resistance. The chief objective is still training movement, not emphasizing load being lifted through these movements.
4 Weeks - Strength
4 Weeks - Power & Plyometric
Strength, Power, Plyometrics, and Agility Priniciples Applied to each Session throughout the 8 weeks.
The Strength Phase of the program will be centered around improving the athlete’s (1) ability to fire muscles with proper timing, (2) increase muscle strength in order to perform explosive movements, (3) induce muscle hypertrophy, and (4) improve the body’s ability to absorb force. Without adequate muscle firing patterns and strength, plyometric programs, or programs centered around improving power, will not be as efficient. This phase will include single leg, split leg, and bilateral exercises.
The Power & Plyometric Phase is aimed at overloading the absorption and propulsion phases of movement. The purpose is to train the body to shorten/tighten muscles as quickly as possible during change of direction movements. Increasing the velocity of muscle contraction allows for more effective absorption of force and more powerful movements. During this phase the athlete will most likely see the largest improvement in explosive power.
If you are on a waiting list to enroll in one our program levels, or you are unable to commit to an 8 week program, we offer conjugate training sessions in the interim. These sessions focus on multiple principles within the same 60 min training session (plyometrics, agility, power, strength, mobility, and core) at the request of the athlete and discretion of an Elevate Performance Coach.
The sports medicine specialists at Elevate Sports Performance offer a full body movement evaluation that assess limitations in movement, joint by joint, that may affect the way an athlete moves during his or her sport. Our screening process help to narrow down on the source of pain, discomfort, restriction range of motion, and/or strength deficits. These limitations put a cap on the effectiveness that an athlete has at absorbing force and/or producing force. Post-evaluation, the athlete will also receive a mobility and/or stability routine that is tailored toward improving his or her specific limitations.
